Terms of Participation — Open Calls

1. Who we are. Nova Art Gallery (“Novart”, “we”) is an gallery for posters and type-driven design, operated by a company registered in Georgia.

2. Applying. Applying to an open call is free. You may apply if you are 18 or older and the work you submit is your own. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection. We review every application and contact selected artists by email; we may not be able to reply individually to artists who are not selected. Artists who are not selected stay in our pool and are considered for future open calls, unless you ask us not to.

3. Selection and payment. Participation in the exhibition is paid. If your work is selected, we send you a personal payment link; your place is confirmed once the participation fee is paid. Fees depend on the format — digital or print participation — and on the number of works; the current options and prices are shown in the application form and on the payment page. If payment is not received by the date given in the email, the place may be offered to another artist.

4. What you receive. Digital participation includes: projection of your work at the exhibition event, a page for your work in the online catalogue on novart.me with your name and links, and a digital certificate of participation. Print participation includes, in addition: professional printing of your work arranged and handled by the gallery, your print hung at the exhibition, and photographs of your work in the space — for your portfolio and press. Event details — date, venue and programme — are announced to participants as they are confirmed.

5. Refunds. The participation fee covers selection, preparation and the exhibition itself, so it is non-refundable once paid — except where the exhibition event is cancelled by us and not replaced, in which case we refund the participation fee in full. Printing costs are non-refundable once the print has been produced.

6. Your rights in your work. You keep all rights to your work. By taking part you grant Novart a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to reproduce and show the submitted work, together with your name, photo and bio, on novart.me, at the exhibitions, in the online catalogue, and in Novart’s social media and press materials — for the purposes of the exhibition and of promoting Novart and its artists. This licence continues after the exhibition so that archive pages stay online. You can ask us to remove your page at any time by email.

7. Sales of works. We never sell or offer your work for sale without your agreement. If a buyer is interested in your work, we contact you first, and the price and your share are agreed with you in writing (by email) before any sale happens. Taking part in an exhibition does not oblige you to sell anything.

8. Your responsibilities. You confirm that the work is yours, does not infringe anyone’s rights, and contains nothing unlawful. If you order print participation, you are responsible for submitting print-ready files to the specification we send you; we check every file and contact you if something needs fixing.

9. Changes. We may change the date, venue or format of an exhibition event for reasons outside our control; we will tell participants as soon as we know. Section 5 applies if an event is cancelled and not replaced.
